Vinyl Madness!

It has been awhile since I wrote about recently purchased vinyl, and with good reason; I haven't been able to go  "record hunting" at yard sales, until today. I managed to buy one record, a brilliant record by any standard.Though I would prefer a Buddy Holly album that wasn't all greatest hits this was a awesome find and brought a smile to my face. Buddy Holly is a must whether it is vinyl or not and a good starter for anyone new to his music.

Issued: 1978 Label: MCA

Standout tracks - That'll Be the Day, It's So Easy, Raining in My Heart, True Love Ways, Think It Over, Honestly just play the record from start to finish.

Vinyl Sadness.

I as every other person has heard about the passing of Amy Winehouse. But beside all of the speculation of how she died, and what she died from, the truth being; Amy  was a fantastic singer, and her production abilities on this album are superb. I have listened to "Rehab" many, many times, but honestly it is my least favorite song. It is (in my opinion) the weakest song on the album. This is worth owning as it gives hope for the future of  music, and it a fitting swan song for a great artist. R.I.P Amy.

(I purchased this on vinyl about 2 months ago at a nice price, but I assume that will change.)

Issued: June 19, 2007 Label: Republic

Record commando II!

My weekend search ended without finding a copy of Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath. The yard sales I went to turned out to be dud's. I attempted a used record store as well, but to no avail. Oh well, I just ordered the album online. It is a reissued copy and will be a good listen.

Record Commando!

Jump magic?

I'm on the hunt this weekend to find a copy of Heaven & Hell (vinyl) by Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio on vocals. If I felt compelled I could order it online, but that would ruin the fun of going to yard sales. Here's to success!
