Music! Mayhem! Madness!

Santo & Johnny - Sleepwalk. A brilliant instrumental that sets the mood for rainy days. I have played this song on repeat many times and it never becomes stale. Wonderful job on the steel guitar; simple and tasteful, a true classic.

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons - Rag Doll. Opening with a drum kick and impressive vocal harmony followed by the scratchy voiced singer  you have a song that is destined for repeated listening. The lyrics are not intriguing, but is shouldn't matter with a melody that's so juicy.

Music! Mayhem! Madness!

Ray Lamontagne - Old Before Your Time. To be honest, it has never been Ray's voice that drew me in as a listener, but his arrangement's and most of all his lyrics. Mr. Lamontagne captures a mood, a feeling and this makes his songs incredible enjoyable. I anticipate his upcoming records to be just as great.

\

The Libertines - What A Waster.  The band that was supposed to  revolutionize Punk Rock, change the word, save starving children, etc...Well, they didn't, but what they did do is give a couple of quality albums. The band always reminded me of The Jam (which is a good thing) so it was a natural fit. A straight to the point song, a perfect fit for a Sunday afternoon.

Bad Taste.

What fuckin' happened to KISS? An over bloated music video with a bunch of blowhard looking dickheads. For fuck sake's look at Gene Simmons? Well for that matter look at all of them! Granted they had to unveil themselves at some time, but to do so in such a awful manner is distasteful to all of Rock. The lore and  mystery was taken away with a single music video.

Music! Mayhem! Madness!

In celebration of  Halloween  today being Tuesday I give thee:

Slayer - Ghost of War. Muahahaha! Slayer does spooky well.

Cradle of Filth - Her Ghost in the Fog. Cradle of Filth is a good band, maybe a little over the top with the theatrics, but worth listening to. If you enjoy metal and "theater" you'll love these guys.
